GAY PRIDE in LJUBLJANA 2001 "ROAD PAST INTOLERANCE – A MARCH AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA" – an Anti-Discrimination Warning

Ljubljana witnessed it's first mass demonstration in promoting of tolerance towards the Different on Friday 06th of July 2001.

The march, which attracted hundreds of enthusiastic participants and onlookers, was headlined by SUSPENDER SISTERS, the STRUMPANTL SISTERS making a dramatic entrance to the main square through the crowds on motorcycles, performing a sensational version of EN VOUGE`S FREE YOUR MIND.

A giant rainbow flag carried through the streets was unfolded both in front of the City Hall and at Preseren square, where the crowds were posing for media.

The phenomenal success of the whole event, which was friendly, accessible and vibrant all the way through certainly guarantees a far larger Pride event in Ljubljana next year.
